The 94th Annual Custer County Legion Convention was held on Sept. 11. Bryson Booker Post 59 Legion, Legion Auxiliary and SAL hosted this event. The joint meeting in the morning was held at the Callaway Community Center followed by a meal provided by the Legion Auxiliary. The afternoon meeting of the Auxiliary was held at the Community Center and the Legion and SAL meeting was held at the Post 59 Legion Hall.

Dale Estergard was awarded a nice Eagle Plaque for his outstanding service as County Legion Adjutant for 36 years. Special guests were the Department Commander Don Suchy, Department Auxiliary President Vicki Ozenbaugh, District 6 Commander Julie Schnitzler, District 6 Auxiliary President Nancy Harold, and District 6 SAL Commander Eric Garrel.

A very nice Memorial Service was held in the morning with reading of the names and recognizing Legion and Auxiliary members over the past year in Custer County that have passed on. Post reports were given by the Posts of the County on all the events, donations and support to the Communities in the County. Several Posts in the County work together to ensure deceased veterans have military honors. Next year's convention will be held in Comstock.

There were many donations for door prizes for Legion and SAL members in the county that attended. It is very important we recognize these businesses that support veterans.
