Unit 59 of Callaway Legion Auxiliary met on June 20, 2022. The meeting was held at American Legion Hall in Callaway at 6:30 p.m. The meeting started off with the President Deondra Lashley calling the meeting to order. Our chaplain was not present at this meeting so Jo Chesley read the prayer. Deondra led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and we recited the Auxiliary Preamble. Eileen Wilson read the minutes of the May meeting. The minutes were approved as read.

MaryAnn read the treasurer's report, we have a beginning balance of $4919.94. We had total proceeds of $186.72 from our Poppy sales, these are sent to the State Auxiliary Department. We also had a deposit of $30 from Best Choice labels. The total of money received from Best Choice labels since we started this is $450. This leaves us with a balance of $5161.71. There were no expenses.

We have been asked to help with the cook shack for the 4th of July fireworks. We will serve popcorn, water and Ice cream bars. For the Pioneer Picnic, I believe some of us will carry our banner in the parade.

We need to order more grave markers, Jo motioned that MaryAnn should order six Auxiliary grave markers. MaryAnn seconded this motion and it received a unanimous vote of approval.

On August 21 is the District 6 Picnic at the Central Nebraska Vet Home. Jo made a motion to give the District $15 to help with the expenses of the picnic. Eileen seconded the motion and it received a unanimous vote of approval.

The County Convention is here in Callaway on Sept. 11, that is the second weekend. Just a reminder that ALA has a Facebook page. District 6 Round Up is Oct. 16 at St.Paul.

The Custer County Grant goes to a female graduate for $100. We feel that this needs to be a little higher. It was suggested that it should be around $250 - $300. Please think about this and let us know your thoughts.

Deondra adjourned the meeting.
