CHS Class of ‘52 Celebrates 70th Reunion

The Class of 1952 met at Shotgun Annies in Callaway on Friday evening June 24 for their 70th Reunion. There were nine members of the class in attendance: Raymond Armstrong, Gothenburg; Gloria (King) Brookman and husband Richard, Kimball; Tony Pitkin and wife Bev, Callaway; Marjorie (Smith) Schneider and husband Alex, Callaway; Virginia (Waldron) Witthuhn, Callaway; Beverly (Whaley) Fellers, Lexington; Lucille (Woodward) Beshaler, Callaway; Rose (Booker) Hirsch, Broken Bow; and Roberta (Hoffman) Nansel, Grand Island. Roberta's daughter Melanie Sheen of Grand Island and Rose's daughter Denise Daake, Broken Bow were also in attendance.

During the evening the class " Facetimed" classmate Geraldine (Thomas) Tompkin of Lincoln who was not able to attend and also talked on the phone to Royce Smith of Bend, Oregon. The rest of the evening was spent getting "caught-up" on everyone's lives, activities and reminiscing over the 70 years since the class members left Callaway High.

All but Marge and Rose were at the banquet on Saturday evening and at the program. Beverly Fellers gave the Response at the program.
