Senior Living
On her first day at the senior complex, the new manager addressed all the seniors pointing out some of her rules: “The female sleeping quarters will be out-of bounds for all males, and the male dormitory to the females.”
“Anybody caught break ing this rule will be fined $20 the first time.” She continued, “Anybody caught breaking this rule the second time will be fined $60.”
“Being caught a third time will cost you a fine of $180.”
Are there any questions?” At this point, an older gentleman stood up in the crowd inquired, “How much for a season pass?”
Smiles A smile costs nothing, but gives much. It enriches those who give it. It takes but a moment, but the memory sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich and mighty that he can get along without it, and none so poor but that he cannot be made richer by it.
It can perk up the weary, bring cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and is nature’s best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away.
When people are too tired to give you a smile, give them one of yours. No one needs a smile so much as he who has none to give.
