Gratitude For Selfless Protection
A Thank You to our Volunteer Firefighter
Words cannot begin to express the humility and gratitude for our area volunteer fire men and women. On the evening of Thursday, March 24, and through the night into Friday, March 25, you stood watch over our house, property, and lives, ready to do whatever it took to protect.
We can’t begin to thank all those brave people that were at our house that night, but we are amazed at all of you. Only now, one month later, do we feel like things have settled back down for us, even though we know we are all still at risk and firefighters are still battling these unprecedented conditions.
We are in awe of the generosity and selflessness of people in this area and only now completely understand what community means. We don’t specifically know each individual that was at our house that night, but we keep hearing more and more from people that were. There were so many vehicles it was amazing.
Thank you to everyone from the Callaway, Oconto, Merna and Broken Bow fire departments that were stationed at and around our house. An additional thank you to the other departments who responded and to everyone that volunteered that night. Finally, thank you to Dan Trumbull, who did such a great job coordinating the efforts of all agencies.
Sincerely,
Michael, Erin, Joslyn, Neltje and Lauren Reiff
