4-H Provides Communication Skills

Three Custer County 4-H members recently competed at the Premier Communications Event. The Nebraska 4-H Premier Communication Event features a variety of state-level communication contests. The two-day event is held on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus in Lincoln.
The event is designed to provide youth with an opportunity to:
• Showcase their learning and skills in the area of communication.
• Explore issues related to the communication industry.
• Discover college and career opportunities.
• Meet other 4-H youth from across the state.
Youth participate in a variety of contests focused upon communication, presentation, and public speaking. In addition, youth will have chances to explore East Campus, participate in learning sessions and tours, and have fun with friends!
Clancy Martin, son of Patrick and Elissa Martin of Lexington, presented a 4-H speech in the Junior Division. Clancy received a blue ribbon.
Lucy Martin, daughter of Patrick and Elissa Martin of Lexington, presented a 4-H speech in the Intermediate Division. Lucy advanced to the finals of the Intermediate Division. She received a purple ribbon and 5th place.
Lillian Gregoski, daughter of Will and Makayla Smith of Oconto, presented a 4-H speech in the Senior Division. Lilly received a purple ribbon.
