Southeast Community College has announced its newest cohort of 30 students in the Walter Scott Jr. Career Pathway Scholars program. The scholarship program is for students pursuing technical education in construction, manufacturing and transportation and provides full tuition and fees plus room and board for up to four semesters at the SCC Milford Campus.

One of the students accepted into the program is 2025 Callaway High School graduate Bo Brennan. He will be studying Energy Generation Operations.

Beyond financial assistance, Scott Pathway Scholars receive support through a dedicated living-learning environment and career development resources. The scholarship program integrates both curricular and co-curricular learning experiences designed to develop technical expertise alongside essential social, emotional and problem-solving skills.

“Our Scott Pathway Scholarship program represents our commitment to developing the next generation of technical professionals,” said Tracy Kerner, Scott Pathway director. “By removing financial barriers and providing intensive support services, we’re creating a direct pathway from education to meaningful careers in high-demand industries.”

Scholars must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA while taking at least 12 credit hours per semester. Additional requirements include living in the dedicated learning community on the Milford Campus, participating in career development activities, regular meetings with the Scott Pathway director, and engagement in paid field-related work

experience.
