The Village of Callaway has received a $15,000 Nebraska Department of Economic Development Civic and Community Center Financing Fund (CCCFF) Grant with the assistance of Central Nebraska Economic Development District. These grant funds will be matched by the Village to fund a pool planning study to develop a plan, determine costs, and prepare a site plan for a new pool and bathhouse.

A committee consisting of Village Board members, business owners, high school students, and parents with young children has been formed to work on the design with the engineers. The committee has established the following priorities: diving board, zero entry, more shading on the deck, ADA-compatible bathhouse with outdoor entrances for 24-hour restroom services to campers, energy-efficient pumps and entrance moved from the busy street for the safety of the kids.

CCCFF funding supports the development of civic, community and recreation centers and is funded through a turn-back of 30% of State sales tax generated by arena and nearby retailers. Eight communities around the State of Nebraska will receive a portion of the $1,233,415 up for award.
