The new Junior-Senior High School at Callaway was dedicated Sunday afternoon, April 13. The senior band, under the direction of Frank Swathel, played the “Star Spangled Banner” and Father James Janovec gave the invocation to begin the program. Superintendent of Schools, George Wright introduced members of the present school board and Dick Lange of North Platte and Lorraine Smith of Callaway, who were members of the board during the planning period. School Board President Herbert G’Schwind welcomed those present.

20 YEARS AGO:

Callaway High School and Junior High art students competed in the Mullen Art Show on April 5 bringing home numerous honors. Artist Kim Rundlett took home the lone first-place ribbon with her print-making entry “Life After Death”. Numerous junior students also earned honors.
