Callaway High School took a big contingency of students to the Nebraska State FFA Convention, which convened on April 4, in Lincoln. The group started their first day off with a tour of UNL’s Splinter Labs and got to drive robots used in agriculture. The Ag Mechanics, Floriculture, and Environment and Natural Resources teams competed and some of the kids went to an Expo in Pinnacle Bank Arena to learn about colleges, leadership, and to get goodies! The day ended with the Opening Session at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Day 2 started with a tour of Hudl HQ in downtown Lincoln. The kids learned about the company and got to tour the business meeting employees and learning what Hudl offers for athletes, students and professionals. They ate lunch and shopped till’ they dropped in the Haymarket, then the Ag Sales team competed at UNL East Campus.

The final day started off at Pinnacle Bank Arena with one of our own, CJ Quandt, getting hypnotized! Students then attended another Leadership Convention downtown at the Graduate and learned about the importance of making the most out of your experiences. The day was highlighted by Dylan Pandorf receiving his top 10 individual award in Environment and Natural Resources.

They finished their day with a birthday cake for Neltje Reiff before heading back to Callaway. The students wish to give a special thanks to Garrett Hrupek for putting together a fun week for State FFA and making it a time to remember!
