Salvation Army Seeking New Members
Want to be part of a group that is active in helping others and improving life in Custer County?
“We’d love to have you join the Custer County Salvation Army,” said chairman, Julie Toline. “All you need is an interest in assisting others. There are no dues or other requirements.”
The local Salvation Army serves all of Custer County by providing emergency services for local families who are victims of disasters such as fires, floods or tornadoes. They also assist with medical services such as dental, vision or prescription needs.
They hold a Back-to-School Book Bag and School Supplies Giveaway for students every summer and help with the Santa Cop project at Christmas time. They support food pantries in Custer County communities and help Custer County school districts with services for students.
The group meets on the first Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the Broken Bow Public Library. The next meeting is Monday, April 7, when they will celebrate National Volunteer Month with coffee and cookies. Everyone is welcome to attend! For more information, contact Toline at 402-677-9323, or Carol Allen, secretary, at 308-870-4397.
