Various events and activities are held at the Seven Valleys Senior Center, as well as a monthly potluck. It is a gathering hub for the community. Rising costs - including insurance which went up $1,100 this year for the center - are making it more difficult to keep things going. Your help is needed. (Courier file photo by Ellen Mortensen)
Body

Most of the people in our community know the story of a group of seniors in the 90s who worked together to build a senior center and named it the Seven Valleys Senior Center. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which provides tax exempt donations, with the stated purpose of education.

Since the beginning, many have worked to keep the senior center going and thriving. We are now in a situation because of rising costs, where we need to supplement our usual income. Our present income comes from BINGO in the park, rental of the building, and private donations. We still have bricks ($250) to memorialize your name or your organization’s name.

The senior center board has decided to start a sustaining donation project. We are asking for a commitment of $50 each year. This would begin for the year 2025.

If you are willing to make this commitment, you can send your contribution to Seven Valleys Senior Center, PO Box 362, Callaway or give it to any board member. The current board members are Lucille Beshaler, Marge Frederick, Linda Lawrence, and Bob Lord.

Sincerely, Joan and Gailard Longmore
