Lady Bobcats Stay Postive Despite Loss
The South Loup Bobcats hosted the Cozad Haymakers on Oct.
10. This was the Bobcats' last home game of the season and their pink-out event, dedicated to raising awareness for breast cancer.
The players, coaches, and fans went all out with pink attire for this game, creating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere that highlighted the importance of the cause.
“As a freshman on varsity, playing against a team like Cozad is a great opportunity. I am proud of us girls for competing alongside them, even when we were falling short,” said freshman Rae Hagler.
Both teams played with determination and love for the game.
The Haymakers came out strong in the first set fighting for every point. Haymakers took the first set with a score of 25-12.
A standout moment in the first set came when sophomore outside hitter Charli Pandorf delivered a flawless pass to senior setter Riata Remund, who set up Nyachay Haidle for a powerful kill.
The game extended into two more sets, with the Bobcats coming out strong in the second set, demonstrating their determination and skill. The teams traded points back and forth, but ultimately, the Haymakers seized control and took the set with a score of 25-14.
The Haymakers came out strong in the third set taking it in a score of 25-8.
“We had a tough loss for our last home game. Despite the outcome, we’re staying positive and shifting our focus to what's ahead. We're looking forward to the MNAC next week,” said Head Coach Michelle Preston.
