Homecoming Royalty Crowned
No matter how many years have passed, most of us remember our Homecoming. Typically, the football jocks recall details of the game that night, while we girls tend to reminisce on the dress we wore or who our date was. No matter what details come to mind, Homecoming makes lasting memories.
The entire student body, from kindergarten on up, gets into the spirit of the festivities during Homecoming Week in Callaway. The high school's art club met and painted jeans for Spirit Day, and the football team greeted the elementary students with high five's on Friday, Oct. 4.
Because of a shortage of referees the Homecoming game was one of a handful this season that are being played during the afternoon. South Loup hosted Pleasanton for the football game in Callaway at 2:30 on Friday.
Prior to the game students of all grades gathered for a parade through downtown Callaway before reconvening at the school for the pep rally. The pageantry of the 2024 Homecoming concluded with the crowning of the king and queen following the football game.
Though the schools Coop for athletics, Callaway and Arnold each crown their own royalty. This year's Callaway High School Homecoming Queen is Greeley Hrupek. She is the daughter of Jeff and Liana Hrupek. The 2024 Callaway Homecoming King is Harper Johnson, son of Heath and Linsey Johnson.
Arnold High School's 2024 Homecoming Queen is Riata Remund, daughter of Holly and the late Scott Remund. Homecoming King is AJ Starr, son of Scott and Bobbi Starr.
Congratulations to the South Loup 2024 Homecoming Royalty.
