Lady Bobcats Earn Much-Needed Win
The Twin Loup Wolves hosted the South Loup Bobcats and Sandhills Valley Mavericks on Thursday, Oct. 3, in Sargent.
The Bobcats came to play and scored their first win of the season. The Bobcats worked extra hard in the game against Twin Loup to ensure they came out with their first win.
The biggest highlights of the game were Bobcats freshman middle blocker Emma Stallbaumer, who had a total of 11 blocks, and senior back row outside Greeley Hrupek who tallied 9 aces.
“The girls came together and played amazingly to get our first win of the season! Our serves and blocks really pushed our team to a win,” shared an excited Coach Michelle Preston.
The Bobcats took the game in two sets against the Wolves. The first set started off rough for the Bobcats but ended with a win. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-14.
“Thursday night was one for the memories of all the girls on South Loup volleyball. After winning the first set of the Sandhills Valley game and going on to lose the second two sets after a hard fight, the girls pulled together for a major win over Twin Loup in two sets,” said South Loup senior Riata Remund.
South Loup played the Sandhills Valley Mavericks in a three-set game. Both teams played very hard fighting for every ball and point.
