Callaway Sparks Ole' Fashioned Christmas Magic
The Callaway Chamber of Commerce works diligently to make the Old Fashioned Christmas Around Town an extra special event, and this year was no exception.
Activities for Christmas Around Town, which was held on Wednesday evening, Dec. 6, were spread throughout various locations in the community. The Sons of the American Legion hosted a soup supper at the Community Center, which also served as the host site for the craft and home based business show. With more than 30 vendors on hand it was a great opportunity to pick up some unique gifts for some of those hard to buy for folks on your Christmas shopping list.
In the mini park next to the library kids had an opportunity to have their picture taken with Santa, and there was a fire pit in the mini park for roasting S’mores.
One of the most popular traditions at the annual Christmas event are the wagon rides offered by Darrell and Kay Fahnholz. With picture perfect weather that evening lots of people took advantage of the wagon ride.
Downtown, various retail stores held open houses and sales promotions. Some of the offerings throughout the downtown businesses included apple cider, cookies, hot chocolate, giveaways and much more.
The events for the Callaway Old Fashioned Christmas are hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber also reminds Callaway residents to take advantage of the Best Yard of Cheer contest now open. Nominate your favorite Yard of Cheer to Kelsey or Stacey at First Interstate Bank. The winner will be announced on Monday, Dec. 18, so channel your inner Clark Griswold and get to decorating!.
The 1st place winner will receive $50 in Chamber bucks and the 2nd place winner will receive $25 in Chamber bucks.
There's nothing like Christmas in a small town, and Callaway makes it special every year.
