The Custer County 4-H Public Speaking Contest was held on Monday, April 10 at the 4-H Building in Broken Bow. Eleven entries were made by Custer County 4-H youth in five divisions. Award donors for the contest included Tom & Mary Langrud, Cindy Pearson in Memory of Bill Pearson, and Arnold Rotary.

The top individuals receiving purple ribbons at the county contest in the Intermediate and Senior Speech and PSA divisions will represent Custer County at the Premier Communications Event, previously known as the State 4-H Public Speaking Contest. The Premier Communications Event is scheduled for June 23 in Lincoln. Here are the results of the contest: NOVICE SPEECH DIVISION
