The first Callaway pickleball clinic was held Oct. 4 from 6 - 8 p.m. with USA pickleball Ambassador and North Platte pickleball member Barb Baldridge leading. Three additional North Platte pickleball members assisted in instructing and demonstrating pickleball skills and rules. Each participant was then able to play and learn the basics of the fastest growing sport in America.

Pickleball is a paddle sport for all ages and skill levels. This sport uses a paddle, perforated plastic ball, and net, and can be played as singles or doubles. It is a fun and social sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.

The event was held in the Callaway Community Center. Appreciation is expressed to the Village for the use of this great space. Several participants showed interest in continuing to grow pickleball in Callaway.
