The Callaway American Legion Auxiliary’s monthly meeting held June 8, was an informal meeting due to small attendance.

MaryAnn went over things from Girls State; she helped with the election of officers on June 2. She was very impressed with the girls and how well they conducted their meeting.

We received a thank you from Post Prom. They did a very good job thanking us for our contribution.

For children and youth education we ordered some coloring books on the American Legion and on Poppies. We had a hard time receiving our order, so we ordered some more from Oriental Trading and they arrived on time. We did get the first order from Emblem Sales so now we have plenty.

Our Junior members went around town distributing poppies and did very well. Pioneer Picnic will be June 26-28. The American Legion will serve burgers, brats and pie on Saturday night and the Auxiliary will help out with the pies - this will be at the Community Center. The Legion will also serve breakfast Sunday morning at the Community Center There will be an Ice Cream Social on July 20, at the Central Nebraska Medical Center, if you would like to help.

The Custer County Convention will be held on Sept. 20 in Oconto at 10 a.m. Flag Day is June 14th.

There is no meeting in July, but in August we will be electing officers. The meeting concluded with a prayer from our Chaplin, Joyce reading a prayer. Sincerely, Eileen Wilson, Secretary
