On Sept. 9, all employees of First Interstate Bank in Callaway proudly participated in Volunteer Day by lending a hand at the Callaway Community Center. Over the course of four hours, the team performed a deep cleaning throughout the facility, tackling a significant portion of the work.

“It was a rewarding experience to contribute to the upkeep of a space that serves so many in our community,” said Bank President Stacey Guthard. “Giving back to the places we call home is what makes First Interstate Bank such a special place to work.”

Along with helping out on Volunteer Day, the bank shows community support through local sponsorships, donations, business development, and other volunteer efforts throughout the year. The bank employees picked their own local service projects for Volunteer Day, designed to meet the specific needs of the community.

“We were encouraged to pick a project supporting an organization we care about,” Guthard explained. The local team selected the Callaway Community Center as the beneficiary of their volunteer service.

The banks closed at noon on Volunteer Day to allow the employees to be out in the community doing their projects. More than 3,200 employees from across 14 states participated in the event, encompassing nearly 400 separate service projects.

“I think the teamwork and camaraderie have been the best thing about Volunteer Day,” said Guthard. “It is also wonderful to be able to give back to our community.
