I recently bumped into an old friend, who is an engineer, and asked what he was working on these days. He replied that he was working on “Aqua-thermal treatment of ceramics, aluminum, and steel under a constrained environment.”

I was impressed until, upon further inquiry, I learned that he was washing dishes with hot water under his wife’s supervision.

What is the secret to success? Two words. “Right Decisions”.

And how do you make the right decisions? One word: “Experience”.

How do you get experience? Two words: “Wrong Decisions”.

The next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water temperature isn’t just how you like it, think about how things used to be. In the 1500s, most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May and still smelled pretty good by June. However, they were starting to smell so brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor. Hence the custom of carrying a bouquet when getting married.
