Hospital Foundation Donates Lifesaving AED to Senior Center
The Callaway District Hospital Foundation, with the generous support of community member Mark Buss, has provided a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the Seven Valleys Senior Center.
This donation highlights the Foundation’s mission to enhance community health and safety throughout the region. AEDs are vital lifesaving tools that can restore a heartbeat during sudden cardiac arrest - a situation where immediate response can make all the difference.
Buss worked closely with the Foundation and hospital leadership to identify the need and coordinate the purchase. The AED will ensure that staff, volunteers, and patrons at the Seven Valleys Senior Center have access to critical emergency equipment until first responders arrive.
“Our Foundation is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of our rural communities,” said Cassie Penn, Chief Operating Officer of Callaway District Hospital and Foundation Board Member. “Placing AEDs in public spaces like the senior center is an investment in safety and peace of mind for everyone who uses these facilities.”
Buss will also assist with AED installation, maintenance, and training, ensuring that the device remains ready for use in an emergency.
The Callaway District Hospital Foundation continues to invest in projects that promote rural health, safety, and quality of life across Custer County and surrounding communities.
