An Evening of Blue
The Callaway High School FFA chapter hosted its final meeting of the 2025-26 school year and recognized several members with awards on Thursday, April 9.
Along with awards, the officer team for 2026-27 was announced as FFA members, their families, and community members came together for the 9th annual FFA Banquet at the Callaway Community Center.
Once everyone had been served the meal, CHS FFA Advisor Garrett Hrupek welcomed those in attendance and laid out the agenda for the evening. “FFA is about more than just results. It is about building responsibility, work ethic, and learning how to be part of a team.
It’s about doing your job, representing something bigger than yourself, and contributing to growth,” Hrupek shared in his opening remarks. “That’s what this group has done. They have represented this chapter with consistency and taken ownership of what is expected of them. That matters.”
Following the introduction of this year’s team of officers and the business meeting, awards were presented for Career Development Events (CDEs) and Leadership Development Events (LDEs). Students who competed at the State FFA Convention were also recognized.
Chapter awards began with Discovery Degrees.
Junior high members earning that recognition were: Ellie Phelps, Olivia Doggett, Brianna Quitmeyer, Kyler McDaniel, Wyatt Fetters, Fayth Duckett, Waylon Bollig, and Gabe Stutzman.
Earning their Greenhand Degrees are Gracie Brennan, Calen Hickenbottom, Jacob King, Angel Nichelson, Ethan Nehila, and Lynae Wiese.
Two Callaway members were awarded the Chapter Degree, the highest honor an FFA member can receive. Those honorees are Charli Pandorf and Addi Stump.
Following the presentation of awards, the senior members of the chapter participated in the traditional jacket retirement ceremony.
The evening concluded with the announcement of the 2026-27 officer team: Parliamentarian - Shaun Johnson, Sentinel - Patrick Eggleston, Reporter - Chloe Bloomer, Treasurer - Emma Stallbaumer, Secretary - Gracie Brennan, Vice President - Addison Stump, and President - Charli Pandorf.
The new president then gave closing remarks before adjourning for the evening.
