A relatively new style of competition is taking Nebraska by storm, and we want to invite you to be a part of it! Cowboy Dressage World Nebraska is a grass-roots non-profit organization dedicated to improving the performance horse and is a member of Cowboy Dressage World. Our group sponsors family-friendly practices and events for horsemen and women who are passionate about growing their horsemanship skills.

Cowboy Dressage was introduced in 2012, and exists to develop a more versatile, responsive horse by combining the principles of the traditional vaquero style of horsemanship with the classical maneuvers of modern dressage. The emphasis is always on connectedness, feel, and partnership with your horse as the foundation for executing those high level maneuvers. Competitions are friendly and focused on individual improvement, with the group’s motto as a guide: “Kindness is our Brand.”

On Saturday, Feb. 28, you are invited to join us for a CDWN Kickoff Social to be held at Holthus Convention Center in York from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. We are looking to expand our organization and hold more activities in this area, so take this opportunity to learn more about the club and see if it is a good fit for your horsemanship goals! We will have games, raffles, door prizes, lunch, and the 2026 calendar rollout, including show dates.

In March, we will also sponsor a Boot Camp in Lincoln and in Gothenburg featuring demonstrations and information on what we are all about. For more information about Cowboy Dressage or upcoming events, contact Hope Lewis at 308-529-0177 or Alisa Mullen at 308-640-0618.
