The Callaway Community Foundation Fund board held its regular business meeting the evening of Monday, Feb. 21. President Corby Leeper called the meeting to order at 5:10 p.m. There were eight current and two incoming members present and two current members absent.

The board reviewed and discussed the evening and the results of the Twisting by the Pool fundraiser held Feb. 12. After expenses were paid, receipts from the evening totaled $70,148, including $54,063 from ticket sales and auction items, $1,240 from the traveling Tikis, and an additional $14,845 was received from donations the night of and received through the mail and online.

After a discussion on how to disperse the receipts from the fundraiser, Brenner Beavers made a motion to allocate from the fundraiser proceeds of $64,773, $25,000 to the pool fund, $25,000 to the assisted living center and the remainder, $14,773, to the general fund for future grants. Corby Leeper seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Other new business included discussion about getting thank you cards written to the donors and purchasers, updating the mailing list from the returned mail, and looking into getting a write up into the Nebraska Community Fund newsletter. A motion was also made and carried to welcome Kate Carlson to the CCFF board.

It was also discussed that information for the upcoming April 1 grant application deadline would need to be sent out and advertised.

The next CCFF meeting will be held the third week of March but a date and location was not determined as of yet given there are two new members. In the March meeting, officer elections will be held, outgoing members will be recognized, and plans and tasks for the remainder of 2022 will be discussed.
