America’s Bicentennial will provide the theme for Callaway High School’s annual Homecoming week set for Sept. 29 - Oct. 3. The Litchfield Trojans will provide this year’s opposition for the football agem, and a change in the coronation procedure will provide for introducing and crowning of this year’s royalty immediately following the game.

The annual stockholders meeting of the Farmers Co-op Elevator was held Sept. 18, with 115 persons in attendance at the supper meeting held at the Community Hall.

The Village of Callaway has hired a police officer after a special meeting on Sept. 4. Village chairman Brian Gardner said Jed Schmidt of Broken Bow will begin work at Callaway on Oct. 1 One is not ever likely to see tall skyscrapers changing Callaway’s skyline, but a huge grain bin under construction will certainly do so. Contractors have begun construction on a 400,000 bushel grain bin for Seven Valleys Grain, owned by Mike Pandorf and John Beshaler.
