Callaway and Oconto fire units assisted in bringing under control five fires triggered by an electrical storm early the morning of Aug. 22, six miles northwest and three miles west of Oconto.
The fires raged through acreages on the Kermit Miles, Chuck Myers, and Ivan Baker farms and according to Oconto Fire Chief Leroy Badgley, 70-100 acres were burned in the blaze.
