American Legion Auxiliary Hosts Monthly Meeting

Body

The American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting started at 5:00 p.m. at the Callaway Legion Hall on December 18, 2023. We did not have our President, our Vice President or our Financial Officer in attendence. We that were present decided to have an unofficial meeting to go over things that needed discussed, as the next time we would meet would be in January.

Joe Dishman from the Sons of American Legion showed up to discuss how much we owe them for the soup that we served at the Veterans Soup Supper. He gave us a ballpark amount but will get a statement so that we can pay that bill.

Mid Year Conference will be held in January 2024. We talked about Americanism Essays, Poppy Posters, and the Scholarship info needs to be double checked to make sure all this info is at the school. Students need to be thinking about how they will do these things.

We also need to get valentine boxes around so that people wanting to make Valentines for Veterans can do so.

Vicki Cyboron, Nebraska Department Chaplin as asked each Unit to perform a candle light performance of the Story of the Christmas Candy Cane. Joyce Brestel arranged a reading for our Unit. She did a great job and I feel we all enjoyed this. It puts us more in the mood for Christmas.

Our meeting adjourned and I want to wish everyone a Great Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Sincerely, Eileen Wilson, Secretary
